Pipe testing machine is a device used for inspection and testing of pipe systems. The machine also tests underground pipes, drainage pipes and concrete pipes and box culverts (eneural and internal type) when utilized with additional accruing accessories. Spreader beam is detachable from the actuator and the other bottom bearing is V-shaped having an adjustable angle of 150 degrees at right angle. During pipe loading the machine allows the spreader beam to rotate at 360 degrees at right angle to obtain maximum load.
The machine has a fixed seating position and a movable seating base with variable settings for load bearing capacity. It also has adjustable bending and flexing as per the needs of different pipe sizes. A controlled vent valve means that there is no excess strain on the air return pipe. The bent or flexed portion of the pipe is taken out through a control valve. In this way this pipe testing machine helps in determining the condition of the bent pipe.
There are three main sections in every PEX pipe and they are the head, stem and base. All these parts have their own significance and their own restoration procedure. The head is subjected to a hydrostatic test pressure while fitting into the pipe. The design of the stem is followed for proper formation of the pipe. The hydrostatic test pressure is measured in legal analysis by the pipe testing machine.
There are two main types of hydrostatic pipe testing: static test and dynamic test. The dynamic test is performed by testing the strength of the vent pipe against the external load and it is done with the help of clamping pressure tester. This device consists of a cylinder with a bell-style tip and a fixed arm and it helps in testing the resistance to flow against the flow of the liquid.
The fixed plate is attached to the front side of the pipe and the inside of it is filled with a mixture of air and water. The hydrostatic pipe testing machine then fits into the pipe in the same way that the clamping pressure tester fits to the pipe. The movable push plate is placed over the fixed plate and it helps in draining the pressurized mixture into the collection tank. The flow of the fluid inside the tank is monitored on the monitor screen and the results are displayed on the screen in terms of maximum and minimum pressure.
This device can also be used to check the performance of the joints in the pipe. The diameters of the pipes to be tested should be selected based on the requirements of the equipment. There are different types of these machines available and all of them use the hydraulic piston for controlling the movement. The size of the pipe to be tested must be known and then the type of machine, its working mechanism, functioning and its accessories must be determined.
